April Clubday
Clubday is this Sunday 17 April. We will be running in the normal direction ( clockwise ). The duty class is all Junior drivers and there guardians.We will try and run again to a tighter race schedule to get more races and laps in. So five heats and a GP at the end of the day. Remember the track is open from 7.30am on clubdays and scrutineering will run from 8.00am and finish by 8.30am. ( if you arrive late for scrutineering etc then you just run off the back of the field for the day ) Drivers briefing at 8.45am and first karts on the track for tuning runs at 9.00am. Remonder that there will also be random weighing of karts on all clubdays, if you are under weight you will be disqualified.
Club Membership and Gate Keys
A reminder that your membership to Kartsport Wellington expired on 31 March 2011. You will need to complete a new membership form from the website and get this to us along with your key application if you want a key. Charmaine our Secretary will be at April clubday so you can renew your membership with her then. If you have a key and want a new key you will also need to bring your old key along to exchange. The current gate lock will be changed at clubday. For those who have posted there applications in already Charmaine will be bringing your new cards to clubday. To race at April clubday you must be a current member of Kartsport Wellington. Also look out for our new plastic membership cards proudly sponsored by EYEDE NZ, Typeface and Business Knowledge.
Trailer Parks and Kartports
A friendly reminder that some of our members lease trailer parks and kartports from the club on an annual basis. These members have the first right to use there parks. However members if someone is in your space please be polite when asking them to move.There is a list of current leases displayed in the clubrooms, if you want to use a kartport for the day please check with me first, there are currently a few kartports available for lease and with the winter months coming, I am happy to negotiate a deal on the available kartports. Also for those members who are racing please do not park your cars and trailers along the fenceline facing the track by the clubrooms, we want to try and keep this area clear for visitors and spectators.
WKPA Champs
We will be hosting the Goldstar Champs round at our track on Saturday 5 June and Sunday 6 June. We would like to put up some good prizes for this final round. If you or a business has something that could be donated as a prize this would be greatfully appreciated. We also have available the naming rights for each of the classes running. Cost for this is $250 plus gst for each class. There should be 7 or 8 classes in total.
Upcoming Dates
The track will be closed on Saturday 23 April and Sunday 24 April as the Bucket Bikes have a two day meeting.
Next working bee is scheduled for Sunday 22 May.
