JANUARY CLUBDAY
Clubay is this coming Sunday 16 January. The track direction is clockwise (normal direction) as we are just a couple of weeks from CIK expect there to be some good numbers racing as drivers get some time and practice on the track. Duty class is all Junior drivers and there guardians.
MG TYRES NOW IN USE
A reminder that as of 1 January 2011 all karts must now be using the new MG slick tyre ( wets remain the same ). You must have these new tyres on your kart before doing any practice at the track and of course must have them on your kart to race this clubday. There are NO exceptions to this rule.
CIK TROPHY OF NEW ZEALAND
As per our earlier emails the CIK Trophy meeting that we are holding on 28, 29, 30 January is now confirmed and all go, with the following classes running, KZ2, KF3, Cadet, Junior Restricted, Junior Yamaha, Yamaha Heavy, Yamaha Light. Entries have been kept open until 21 January with no late entry fees so get yours in asap. This is a National event which is televised and has some big sponsors on board.
CIK TROPHY HELP
To run an event the size of CIK we need helpers, for each of the 3 days ( Friday, Saturday, Sunday ) we need around 20 to 25 helpers on each day to cover flagging and the various pits and parc ferme duties. At this stage I have about 5 helpers for each day. PLEASE PLEASE if you are available on any of the three days can you let me know now. If you are racing maybe you could bring a family member along to help out. Large events of this size bring in a good amount of money for the club which we use for future improvements that will benefit you the members.
SUPERKART SPRINTS MANFIELD
Last weekend we hosted our round of the Superkarts series at Manfield Raceway. We had a good turnout with just over 40 entries. Some very fast and impressive racing to watch, a nice fine day and some BIG thanks to those members who came up and helped with flagging so we could run the event, we appreciate you travelling up and helping us out. Special Congratulations must go to Karl Wilson for winning the Superkart Class for the day and also the Superkart GP. Great to see a Wellington member taking the day out with some good competition from the Australian entries.
FINALLY
Remember you need MG tyres on your kart to race this weekend. We need helpers for CIK. We are planning another Twilight meeting for the March Clubday, a later start and BBQ at the end of racing.
