JULY CLUBDAY
Clubday this month is this coming Sunday 18 July. This month we race for the Bill Picard Memorial Trophy. The trophy race will be at the end of the days racing and is an all in 25 lap race for all senior drivers. Track direction is clockwise for the day. Duty class is all junior drivers and there guardians, so please be there to help with set up and stay around for tidy up at the end. Also a reminder of the free sausage and drinks for the kids at the end of the day.
UPPER HUTT CITY GRAND PRIX MEETING
A reminder of our big meeting that is coming up later this month. Over two days Saturday 31 July and Sunday 1 August with a practice day on Friday 30 July. This is a large event that will be run in similar format to CIK Trophy. Entries close on 24 July and we have drivers coming from around New Zealand to compete. Please get your entry in asap and we will send an entry to you all by seperate email shortly.
As part of the Grand Prix meeting we do offer prize money and this comes from the $100 sponsorship raffle tickets that are currently being sold. The draw for the naming rights to the variuos classes will be at clubday this Sunday, so please get out there and sell. The more we sell the bigger the prize money for the weekend.
UPPER HUTT CITY GRAND PRIX HELPERS
If you are not racing in the weekends races, then we do need help over the two days with this event. Help will be needed with flag points, tech shed and in the shop. Please let us know asap if you or a family member can help out on either of the days or even just for a morning or afternoon.
KARTSPORT WELLINGTON 50TH ANNIVERSARY
This year is the 50th anniversary of Kartsport Wellington and along with the Upper Hutt City Grand Prix we are having a special dinner on Friday 30 July at the Cosmopolition Club in Upper Hutt. There are many past members coming from around the country and overseas to join us for the weekends celbrations. Along with the dinner there are going to be vintage karts both on display and racing, a special celebraty race, and lots of past club memorabilia for you to enjoy. We will send a seperate email shortly with more info and how to get your tickets. Please support this important event.
WORKING BEE
To get everything looking at its very best we will be having a working bee at the track just prior to the Upper Hutt City Grand Prix on Sunday 21 July. Jobs to be done include weedeating, work on the play ground, tidying the flag points, painting of track edges etc. Please support our works team Phil Davy and John Picard. They put a huge amount of their own time into our facilities and we try and only do a few working bees each year. Even if you can only come for a few hours it all helps. Please remember to bring tools etc with you.
